Hey guys,

I know this question has probably been asked a 1000 times before but…..

Do wired 360 controllers work straight away on XP :p

My mate has got a couple going spare and I was thinking of buying one off of him for a silly price?

Does it just plug straight into a USB port – no driver or configuration etc.

I know that with my PS2 adaptor and pad, you just plug and play :)

Cheers,

SW.

The driver used to download itself if you selected 'look on the internet', but now it doesn't.
Now, the driver is protected behind the WGA checking, so you'll have to go to download.microsoft.com to get it.

It doesn't work very well with games that dont allow you to configure the axis' yourself. With these games, you can get the modified XBCD driver which allows you to configure the axis' to act just like a standard dual stick pad :)

Hey guys,

I finally got round to installing my controller today - I used the XBCD and the controller works fine etc, but it can not be altered at all in the setup utility?

No device appears to be listed.

I've got a light on the controller etc.

Any ideas? Also, have any of you managed to get the rumble feature to work :)

I'm specifically hoping to play Resident Evil 4 with this enabled.

Cheers,

That's not true. I got an Xbox 360 core just yesterday (to replace my beyond repair premium), plugged the pad into the usb port on my monitor, checked the box to look on the internet for a driver, and (after a few minutes) it was working 100%.

Thanks for the help guys ;)

But just to confirm: has anyone actually got the rumble feauture to work on ANY XP game?

Cheers,

SW.
