hey guys,

1. is the lag noticeable with the wireless version?
2. anyone managed to get the ps3 sixaxis controller working under vista (business) 64bit? i've tried endlessly, but with no luck.

thanks

There's no lag on a 360 so there's no lag on the PC since they use the same exact system and hardware to send/rec the 360 device signal.

No lag at all, best controller I've had for PC. With the whole games for windows thing, more and more games are being released with specifically Xbox 360 control schemes too.

meh i dont why people seem to think wireless would lag =/ the controllers and adapters are not cheap pieces of kit.

The wireless 360 controller is top notch on the pc. Got mine in atm with my mates wired one, Glad i went wireless because wires are sooo annoying.

i take it i need to buy a receiver aswell? the only item i could find that included the receiver was http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GC-001-MS, ideally i'd like to purchase the black version but with a receiver. is there anything else i should watch out for before i buy it? thanks again

You will need:

1) Microsoft Crossfire Wireless Gaming Receiver (pictured in the bottom right of that link)

2) Microsoft Xbox 360/PC Wireless Controller.

I could be wrong but that link is for the controller only.

I've bought the 360 wireless controller for PC, can i get it to work as a normal controller on my 360 ? Seems it will not connect with the console....

Eh? they are the exact same thing... You are pressing the wireless sync button at the back right? next to the play+charge socket on the pad ?

There is no difference in the controllers apart from one being branded as "For PC" and the other being branded for "360"

They're exactly the same controller.

There is only one 360 controller, and it works on both PC and 360. There's no 360 version and no PC version.

They just branded it differently for the different markets.

That price seems very low for a wireless pad WITH receiver as a pad alone is £25-£33 in shops and receiver £15. You can get the pad from anywhere and a receiver from anywhere.

... can someone please confirm. thansk

Having looked closer at the description, it does indeed include the reciever.

- Integrated 2.4 GHz Wireless
- For PC and Xbox 360
- Vibration Feedback
- Ergonomic Design
- Xbox Live Play - Integrated headset jack for PC headsets and Xbox Live play
- Includes Receiver

So in fact its a very good deal as a previous poster pointed at the reciver on its own costs at least 12.99. I would have thought the description would have made it clearer considering what a good deal this is.

For once, OcUK, even with postage, appears to have something cheaper than everywhere else!

So, I purchased the wireless pad & receiver combo from OcUK today.

Should be delivered within a couple of days, so hopefully I'll be able to sit back on the sofa with it and play some games soon, rather than having to drag myself forward so the keyboard & mouse are in range! ;)
