Xbox 360 facelift...

An utter disgrace, come off it thats a little extreme, it's a black box with a windows in the side, I hardly think it's a disgrace, if anything it's simple/minimalistic and smart, each to their own though I suppose.

my argument would be that it looks like a mod you would see on joystiq, a one off. The fact that they actually want to put this on general sale is completely barmy, if sony did this they would get roasted

I suppose so but when you think about it the 'xbox' has allways been quite popular in the mod community, loads of people love modding the 360 and not just to help the airflow either, for many it's all about atheistics, the PS3 on the other-hand is not really something that you can mod that easily tbh and certainly doesn't have such a big community in that respect, I think there would be a market for it.

Personally I dont like the look of it, if I wanted at PC next to my TV I would use a HTPC... I am sure it will help with cooling bigger space and a bigger exhaust fan should equal better cooling. Though as mentioned the noise is mainly from the DVD drive which will obviously be the same one as already with your console, so pointless? Plus the fact its a tower case rather than desktop/htpc style. Im sure anyone with a case could make the xbox components fit, Id love to do a project like that with a silverstone case such at lc17...

personally i dont care how it looks, if it is capable of reducing the number of 360s that die every day by a significant amount, then i might just get a 360 and the lian li case. i like consoles that dont break

It's like twice the size of a normal 360. Would only consider getting one if it actually made the 360 silent, and by the size of it, if it doesn't then it truely is a disgrace!

Its probably a prototype :p Atleast I hope it is :D

The chassis was a prototype, but it contained a fully-functional Xbox 360 on which I had time to do a quick race in PGR4.

Anyway personally I think it's a good idea, especially since people who bought launch consoles will soon run out of warrenty for the rrod.

It looks nasty prototype or not, at least it was lain li's effort, i shudder to think what thermaltake might come up with
