Hey,

Could anybody suggest any 19-20" HDTV that supports 1080i in the region of £200-400. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Samar

I seriously doubt any 19-20" TV will support HD (720i/p is 1280x720, thats very high res for a small TV).
You're looking at 23" LCD Widescreen or above. Even at 23" the cheapest won't be any less than £500 or so.

There is an Acer 26" HDTV with HDCP on the DVI connector for £485 inc. VAT exc. delivery at a competitor. Thats the cheapest worthwhile panel I know of.

I don't see why not.. the only one I can think of is the Samsung 940MW (only because I have one :D). Its primarily a monitor so TV signals might not look as good.. until proper HD equipment is released at least. The perfect size for my tiny creaky desk.

Do you actually need the TV bit or is it just for the 360? At that size you might be better with a widescreen monitor - Acer do a great 19" 8ms widescreen monitor that does 1440 x 900 for about £175 inc VAT

I was just about to say the exact same thing. I haven't tried mine Acer with an Xbox360 but it is really good for watching HD trailers on. I haven't played any games on it yet as I use a Mac but I'm sure it would be fine. Only gripe is that the backlight shines through a little bit on black screens. i.e the black borders at the top and bottom of films looks more grey. This could be a problem for playing dark games.

I bought this monitor last week for to use with my 360. Works like a charm and I'm very impressed with it for the money I paid. (£175)

I'm using the Joytech VGA cable and have no problems at all.

Also got a VGA switch so I can use the screen with my lappy to watch films whilst browsing etc.#

Good purchase :)

Yeah, I have one too which is why i recommended it. Great screen and an amazing price. The resolution isnt a million miles away from the 360 so it scales well :)

Spend 400 quid a on a tv of a decent size instead. I would rather play the 360 on a bigger SD tv then a tiny monitor that did HD. The whole appeal of console gaming i think gets lost on a monitor of say 20", imo consoles are meant more for living room large tv setups. If you cant afford a large hdtv yet just save a bit more for a bigger screen.

Yeah, I do agree - I play on an SD 42" plasma most of the time but when the mrs wants to watch eastenders a widesreen backup monitor is a godsend :D

I personally agree, HD is ruined on a smaller screen, for the full effect run it on a large screen. Save your shillings and get a larger one in the future.

well i have a 360 but i want to use the tv for the new telewest HD service aswell, sooo yea do u rekon 26 will be better for my room then cuz my 360 isin my bedroom not in my living room
