right heres how it goes, my best mate has xbox 360, tonight he was playing GTA4, randomly blowing stuff up, annoying the police, etc and suddenly for no reason the picture turned weird, a green hue was everywhere, especially in the lights on the game, we tried everything, unplugging cables, restarting, unplugging from mains, nothing seems to work. worth noting his 360 is quite cold to touch, so its not overheating or anything. so before he gets on to MS, has anyone else experienced this and is it borked? thanks for any help in advance

Does it happen with other games? If so sounds like a problem with the GPU.
it happens even on the main screen (dashboard or whatever, not a 360 owner so clueless), its not his TV cause it don't happen on DTV or sky, he had this console a while and plays on it regularly, hes trying halo 3 when he gets out of the shower. is that normal for consoles? when PC graphics cards are on there way out you usually get multicoloured stuff and ********** right?

Yeah, I've had this happen with a mates Wii (no jokes) but not a 360. How old is it?

This exact same thing has happened to mine, weird green fuzzy picture so i banged it once & the picture came back. It still happens randomly all the time, the only way i know of curing it for a little while is to overheat it but still the prob aint completey gone with this method.
Best option is to contact MS, mine is pretty much screwed because the warranty is over so i'm just praying that RROD appear so i can send it back

Hmm strange problem, have you got another lead you could try? I doubt its the lead but worth a try if you have one knocking about. My monitor sometimes goes green/blue/yellow/red depending on which way you twist the lead.

I have done the blocking of the vents part but not with a game in, might have to find a rubbish dvd or sumut as i don't wanna melt any discs!

The GPU overheats without a game if you block the fans.
Yeah, that's what mine does & it turns itself off... have tried just turning it back on countless times but can't get RROD yet!
