Xbox 360 network connection fault?

Over the past few months my Xbox has decided to crash only when I'm playing multiplayer games. In Forza, the machine locks up in the menu's and on Fifa it happens whenever there's a pause in the game. (substitution etc)

I assume this is a fault with the network adapter as the game never crashes when i'm playing solo.

Can't find any information on this so I don't think it's a known fault.

Anyone heard of this happening before?

It's also my second console, now out of warranty.

Its possible that the xbox is still faulty as im sure gaming online is probably a wee bit more strenuous on the console then solo gaming? Is the console still in warranty? If so i would pursue that route first.

It's not in warranty

I'll have a fiddle and see if I can manually assign it an IP address and see if that helps. Probably won't though

Does the network test pass ok? I was having odd disconnects because I was still on moderate NAT, in the end I had to manually assign an ip and put the xbox on dmz in the router, as my ****** sky router wouldn't let me open all the ports I needed. Not ideal for security, but as far as I know no-one has hacked an xbox...

I hope those aren't famous last words

Yeah it passes fine. :confused:

Might have to fork out for an elite if it keeps happening
