Just wondered what console is better ? No fanboys please. Just want opinions from people that have had or used both consoles.

Had both, 360 has better games at the moment, but the PS3, although lacking in games atm is much more reliable and dosent break as much. I reckon the PS3 could possibly over take it in a year or two with games like MGS4 coming out.
 
I haven't used both, and I only own a 360.

But the best advice I can give is basically try to go to a shop, and ask to play both consoles, with their best games.

Also use IGN.com, and download videos of the games that are already out, and games that is coming out for both.

So for PS3, MGS, FF, and blah blah

360: Halo, Mass Effect and blah blah.

See which one has more EXCLUSIVES you want.
 
For me personally its the 360 by far.

- Xbox live is superb, demos pretty much every week, arcade every week and its so easy to talk to friends and play games with them.

- There are far more games on the 360 that are worth buying, i think theres only about 2 on the PS3 so far. Also there seems to be loads of future releases that are going to be superb on the 360, especially with all the old PS exclusives coming to the 360 now.

- Controller - I think the 360 controller walks all over the Six axis, the lack of rumble and the overall feel is just cheap whereas the 360 controller fits like a glove and is very comfortable.

- Media extender - The 360 is also an excelent media extender, you can stream music, videos and photos direct from your PC.

Though the 360 can be quite noisy but when using surround sound you can't hear a thing ;)

Its also a lot cheaper than the PS3.

It's still kinda common but worth the risk.

I've had my 360 since launch and it's fine, it's had kicks, it's fell over and it's still going.
 
360 by far, it's got Halo 3. Metal Gear Solid 4 you will play through once then forget all about it just like the other MG games. Hardly any replayability value in the MG series, as good as they are.

Final Fantasy XIII's exclusiveness is hanging on by a thread as well.

Buying a 360 from MM and im just abit paranoid about it blowing up or something :p. What console has better visuals ?

Surely Metal Gear Solid will be out for the 360 eventually ?
 
Maybe worth saying that if you buy Crackdown (Fun game) you'll get 3 weeks access to the Halo 3 Multiplayer BETA starting May 16th.

360 and PS3 will be barely any different visuals-wise.

So far the 360 ports to PS3 have looked worse (Majority) but only slightly.
 
I assume the 360 will be ok to run on a Dell 2005FPW aswell yea ? It has component connectors on it.

Hope you mean component? Either component or VGA will give you a fantastic picture on that screen, but you won't get HD through composite, and it'll look poo!

2005fpw doesnt have component. you'l have to use vga.

I'm in a very similar situation myself. Dont know wether to go for the 360 or a ps3. If you factor in the blu-ray drive, 60gb hd and wireless connectivity its much better value than the 360.
 
Owning both, I'd say 360 at the moment simply because there's a bigger back catalogue of games.

I think the PS3 is a good few months from getting into it's stride game wise.

Chances are it wont but make sure you take out the warranty. I paid a few quid extra for the 3 yr cover so if it does blow up i dont care as it'll be sorted. It'll probably be stuck away in the loft before the 3 years is up anyway.

Just saying i wouldnt take reliability into account at all when choosing a console, more important to choose one that does what you want it to.
 
The 360 will be from MM mate ( Members Market ) on thse forums (2nd hand) and it will come with 6 month warranty and in excellent condition according to the buyer.

You cannot get opinions which won't sound fanboyish, it's impossible.

Console wise I prefer the Playstation3, it's more solid, reliable, quiet and you get a next-generation format, however there are 2 'good' games, and by good, I mean if they were on Xbox360 with its list of games they would be average.

Games wise the Xbox360 is a mile better, you have the best list of games for the first 18 months of possibly any console ever, but you really must like FPS or Driving games to appreciate it, though it does have games such as Viva Pinata and Football Manager too, which break the norm.

With the Xbox360 you get a better controller (vital!), a fantastic online service (at a cost), a cheaper console and the ability to add only what you want/need, where as the PS3 gives you an all in one but at a large cost.

For me the PS3 doesn't really have anything to really get me interested in 2007, whilst there will be some cracking games before the end of the year there are more on the Xbox360 which has some phenomenal looking games coming out.

If you are in it for the games then it HAS to be the Xbox360, it's backlist and future releases are very very very strong.

And don't be led by people saying "But PS3 has HDMI", it's ********, you have Component and a newly updated VGA which is just as good.
