Xbox 360 or PS3

Xbox 360 for me without a shadow of a doubt. The 360 is just so much better established and has the games already available, no waiting around.

360 for single player + online, Wii for multiplayer with friends

Think its going to take at least till the 1st Quater of 2008 before a decent amount of "good" games are available. But even then most of these games will be ports from the 360 or multiplatform. I prefer playing on the 360, cause of the nicer controller and Live. So any multiplatform game I would choose the 360.

I only use my PS3 for Blu-Ray and PS2 games.

just couldnt live with it, sounded like a hair dryer. i was getting increasingly frustrated with R6V. ive got enough money to throw around a little, if i dont like it ill flog it on the bay and stick to PC gaming. im just pleased the shop allowed to return a console id played on for a week.

Console wise I prefer the Playstation3, it's more solid, reliable, quiet and you get a next-generation format, however there are 2 'good' games, and by good, I mean if they were on Xbox360 with its list of games they would be average.

Games wise the Xbox360 is a mile better, you have the best list of games for the first 18 months of possibly any console ever, but you really must like FPS or Driving games to appreciate it, though it does have games such as Viva Pinata and Football Manager too, which break the norm.

With the Xbox360 you get a better controller (vital!), a fantastic online service (at a cost), a cheaper console and the ability to add only what you want/need, where as the PS3 gives you an all in one but at a large cost.

For me the PS3 doesn't really have anything to really get me interested in 2007, whilst there will be some cracking games before the end of the year there are more on the Xbox360 which has some phenomenal looking games coming out.

If you are in it for the games then it HAS to be the Xbox360, it's backlist and future releases are very very very strong.

And don't be led by people saying "But PS3 has HDMI", it's ********, you have Component and a newly updated VGA which is just as good.

I prefer the 360 at the moment because it has better games thus far and Xbox Live is great. Here's hoping Sony will catch up though!
 
If you want a console that wont die within 12 months go for the ps3.

Iv had 2 Xbox,s thats died within 4 weeks and they have both been within this year.

My Ps3 is on 24 hours a day pretty much and if im not gaming im Folding.

And how do you know your PS3 isnt going to die in the future?

Well when iv had 2 360,s die within a short time and iv had a ps3 since launch with no probs, thats good enough for me.

I know nothing lasts forever but the amout of 360,s that die is a joke.

Where as I have had 1 since launch day...
 
go to the highstreet, buy a 360 or ps3, keep all the packaging, play it for a week and if you don't like it take it back and get the other console.
