Xbox 360 or PS3??

Don't get much for exclusives just the usual titles. Im looking at a nice LED HD Screen 47", not much interest for Blu Ray

You've just answered your own question then, get a 360, it's cheaper and will play the same titles as the ones you'll want to play on the PS3.

Though with that said i feel anyone that overlooks the Uncharted series on the PS3 is a mentalist.

ive brought the ps3 love unchartered and got rid of it and brought 360. i have no regrets.

the online gaming with xbox live is a lot better then the PSN network. more people online and its more active. its definatly worth getting the 360 just for the online gaming and its worth paying for live. you wont get a better service

i really dont see whats so great that live has to cost money (apart from maybe the GTA dlc) i mean does it even have dedicated servers yet ? whats with all the low amount of players multiplayer ? RFOM 60 player > * shame its getting old now

That is dependant on what your friends have and use. I have a better, more active friends list on my PS3 than I had on my 360.

If they had dedicated servers for third party games then we'd be talking, Sony have pretty much zero decent or gripping online first party games. I thought Resistance was poor online. (the co-op was good, not the adversarial)

If they offered dedicated servers for MW2 people would flock to it.

Edit: Oh and get both, I prefer my 360 though as the online and dashboard are more pleasant to use.

I'll give you an unbiased opinion, I've had the ps3 since launch date and to be honest there's nothing special about it, I'm now in the process of buying an Xbox 360 this week and dumping my ps3.

The one thing threads like this shows is who is pretty clued up and sensible, whos a fanboy and who is just down right dumb lol.

Theres a difference between down right dumb and fanboy - how interesting...

What a fine line they must tread :p

ps3ud0

the answer is obvious, it's just that people without a 360 don't like to admit it*

*this is a joke, if you take this seriously you really are simple.

which of your friends do you like most? go for the console they have. which console has the best chat facilities at the moment? pick that one. job done.

but then i or someone else will tell of our story of how we did the same but the other way round. it happens in every thread like this

If your friends have both, then I'd say 360. It has better online (for the most part) in the form of xbox live. It is also the lead platform for most releases these days. People also say it has the best controller.....but that's pretty subjective.

I chose ps3 as I belive it has far better games for me personally. And therefore can put up with the online which is a bit crapper - but still totally functional.

I wouldn't say it has better online per se...

Having played both online, I found no major differences in online service.

The one big factor I found I liked though was cross-game chat and how easy grouping up was and joining each others games.

These are all things which are supposedly coming to Sony's console though but I thought they were extremely well implemented on the 360. Apart from that, it was just that the PS3's exclusives had a greater appeal to me and I had use for Bluray that meant I kept it over the 360. The preferred exclusives probably coming from me having the PS1 and PS2 before but never played the original XBOX. I do prefer the 360 controller too. Apart from the D-Pad and the need for a charging pack or loads of batteries.
