Im soon to be a new owner of a nice Hyundai A321 LCD TV and i was also looking at getting an xbox 360. But with the price of the TV around £600 and an xbox with a few games, it looks like its going to cost the best part of £1000.
Does anyone know if the xbox price is going to be dropping in the next month or two or is it more likely to stay the same up until xmas time ?
i've seen a few xboxs being sold on an auction site for around £200-250 with a 20 gb HDD + 1 controller, that a decent price for a 2nd hand xbox that says its in mint condition ? or will patience pay off ?

Thanks!

Their has been some talk of a discount when the PS3 is released (November/December) but even that seems a little questionable given how much more expensive the PS3 will be. I wouldn’t expect anything before then.

Depends if you are okay with going second hand or not really.

I doubt the 360 will even go down in price when the PS3 / Wii arrive until perhaps December to February time at the earliest.

I've just taken the plunge and will be paying £300 for a Premium / 3 Games / Wireless adapter / Extra Controller second hand from the members market, which is a great deal, but those kind of deals will be taken up quickly.

New, I'm sure you can get a good deal or two on cores with a game / HDD if you keep looking around.

i was just looking on an auction site about PS2s, and they can get had for under £30, but id only buy one really for metal gear solid 2 and 3 as the first one was immense on the PS1, but is buying a PS2 a waste of money or is £40 justifiable for a PS2 with MGS2 + 3 (not played these sequels), or would it be better to just save it for another xbox game

Definitely worth it for MGS2 and 3. Hours and hours of great gaming from those two games alone. Especially worth it if you can get a whole console and 2 games for the same price as an XBOX360 game.
