Just went to play some FN3 and my 360 beeped and froze once loaded up, now when i turn it on it beeps where u get the green xbox start up screen and just freezes.

No red rings infact no rings just the power button eluminated, is she gone.

thats a weird one, you tried unpluging everything from it. power lead, AV lead. then leave it a few mins, put everything back in and boot it up

Yeah just done that but now find am getting blue like squares on screen, wonder if its a memory problem ?

corruption normally means its borked mate. if you got it from a shop I would take it back and ask for a replacement. Phone them before though and just enquire if they have any instock to buy. as most dont like doing swaps even though they should do. they much prefer you do the legwork and get microsoft to collect it etc.

As far as Im concerned if a electrical item breaks so close after purchase I just take it straight back and ask for a NEW replacement.

Had it since 21st December so i guess its a Microsoft Job ?

Bought mine on release day, took it straight back to Game on 14th Feb and got a replacement. You should be fine.

No. No. No.
Retailers try to push this on you. It is a con. Your contract is with the retailer. The retailer is responsible for getting it sorted - not you. You could demand a full refund there and then.

For up to 6 years regardless of extended warranties etc your statutory rights protect you and enable you to take a retailer to court if a product becomes faulty. That is the retailer NOT the manufacturer.

A product has to last a reasonable time and be free from defect etc.

Familiarise yourself with this :

just to confirm, i had a 360 bought on release and 2 weeks ago it died, took it back to Game showed them the receipt, and they swapped not just the console but the whole Core package, so i got a new controller all new leads aswell, He didnt take any other info from me, he just saw the receipt and he was back in 2mins with a brand new core pack.

i would have called MS for warranty, but i know the contract is with the retailer, which some of us seem to forget

I just phoned up game and they said bring it back and they will exchange it, wonder if they let me pay extra for a premium, i got a harddrive for it but i know a m8 thats after a hd too.

Nice one! Good news.

Now quickly lock the thread before Loadsamoney comes along preeching doom and gloom!* :D

*only joking Loadsamoney!

does anyone else like pray and remain stationary when turning there xbox on in fear its gonna give you some red lights?

i sigh a massive sigh of relief when it boots to the dash

It is worrying, but at the end of the day aslong as you can get it swapped out for a new unit (though a friend told M$ use refurbed units) within a decent amount of time its not really a big issue.

Worked for abit then without the harddrive almost thought it was that, but its gone again and has 3 flashing lights now

Strange sometimes it boots up beeps then freezes, green lights as u should get then i get 3 red lights or it just don't do owt when you turn it on.

That sounds exactly what I had. I was in two minds as to report a fault as if I left for 30mins say, it seemed to work fine, but as soon as any 'stress' occured then it packed in.

You're doing the right thing, best to sort it out now, hopefully you'll be up and running again in less than 24hrs.

This don't work at all, either trys booting up beeps then crashes or just 3 red lights flash on and off on front.

I just hope its nowt to do with the harddrive as i had it off me mates Premium as he never wanted it, means he will have to send his console back.lol

just checking, is your xbox set at pal50. FN3 only works at pal60 for some reason. If this has got nothing to do with the problem i will shut up.

Its running in hd mode so no settings for that, but i had no probs with FN3 before. The console won't boot up with a game in or empty tray, first lock up happend on GRAW the other day.

Must have been a very early one was made 3rd October 2005 mine although i got it on 21st december.

Also what happens to my 12 month live subscription, how do i get that back
