Hey guys, going on from the comments in the League thread, I had an idea that i ran by Artheas just earlier today.

If you've watched 'The road to Socal regionals' you'll see that Wednesday night fights are featured, and i want to run something similar.

Basically, there are four stations, A, B, C and D.

Depending on the amount of people we have, (16 at OcUK including Kreeeee) we can break them down into groups of 4 per station.

So the top 4 players go into station A, the next best 4 into station B etc.

We'd set up an endless battle for each group and play a first to 10.

So the group finishes when someone wins 10, so the person with the lowest wins at that point gets demoted, and if you get 10 wins, you get promoted.

Eg, 4th place in station A, goes down to station B, winner of station B, gets promoted to station A etc

That way, you'll play people of your same level and improve gradually.

The top players will always be in groups A and B, with the weaker players mainly in C and D. But the benefit is that the weaker players will try their best to get into B as there will always be a top player in group B.

That way, the group C player will get group B experience and level up. This goes for everyone.

You'll want to stay in station A because the best players are there, and try your best not to get demoted, while the others will do their best and try to get into the higher stations.

When we play casuals, it's fun, but we don't really play our best, with a regular weekday to play in 'tournament mode' our games should improve drastically.

The only problem is finding a single day where we could do this regularly.

We could always make the groups bigger if we get more people involved.

What do you guys think?

I sent you an email in trust about this earlier Adz.

When people are unable to make it, we'll just re-do the groups with those that are able to play that evening.

The groups are dynamic, so say we have 16 players one week, we can do it as normal, but if only 12 can make it next week, we'll just split it into 3 groups of 4.

I'm not sure about penalizing people by demoting them if they miss a week, i guess we'll have to figure out something fair as people won't always have time to play.

Hopefully if it gets popular, people will make time to play in the weekly games as it's a great chance to level up our tournament play as we all don't play that serious in our casuals.

We'll just have to play it by ear.

For instance, say you miss a week.

In an ideal world we'll still have 15 players to take part.

We'll re-do the groups so that the top groups always have 4.

We'll still have the promotion and relegation, but when you return the week after, we're left with 5 in group A.

As we'll be keeping records, we can either keep it as a room of 5, or use other factors (amount of games won, winning percentage etc) to determine who should play in group B for that week. The player who was promoted from the week before gets to stay automatically.

We'll just have to see how it goes.

I'm definitely against penalizing players who can't make it. We'll just have to organize the groups in a way that's fair for all.

Essentially, if you get promoted, you stay promoted even if you miss the next week, same goes for if you get demoted.

I like Arts idea.

It doesn't just have to be confined to OcUK, if you guys have anyone on your friends list, they are more than welcome.

I think it would be good if we could set a date in our diary to have a launch night.

Like a couple of weeks from now so we can all make time and see how it works out.

That would be great mate.

We need regulars on this for it to really kick off, and i know that some of the guys here won't be able to make it every week.

Just invite away, the more the merrier!

Cheers mate, got your message.

A little update on this, i'm looking for testers for something.

So please message me on xbl and i'll send you a link to it.

Art, check your email!

Thanks guys, just need you to go over the rules and challenges, and see what needs to be tweaked.

Adz, i can make one for you if you'd like?

Won't take me that long, and would be a nice place to keep everything more organized than here.

Took me 4 hours to get that up and running, could have it done for you by Tuesday the earliest.

Most of the regulars have signed up.

There's no harm with a few randoms joining us, and if anything, these 'randoms' are from OMH and distorted, who i've asked to get others involved.

So they're bound to be decent players, and decent people, i.e ocuk worthy.

I've assigned group captains, so around 8pm, you'll receive an invite from the group captain

It's important that you check your group on the website, and make sure everyone is in the right place.

Also please keep a personal record of your wins, you may get dis-connected, so when you rejoin, you'll have a written record of how many you've won.

I'll send out a mass xbox message nearer the time.

Should be good, and i hope it goes well.

Remember, it's the first one, so if a first to 10 is too long, we can always change it.

Sorry about that guys, i think i made a mistake when i messaged Adz.

I don't know why there were so many problems :S

Group A, B, D, E were all fine in the end.

I don't know why some people were getting disconnected, from A and E?

They were all seperate endless rooms, so they shouldn't have affected each other.

Well what can we do...

Sorry again Distorted, it seemed like a compete mess for you group :(

Hopefully we can sort out the problems for future, everything else seems fine at the moment.

It's easier here.

All the other groups seem fine, with the exception of A, where madbeats kept on getting kicked.

It's the first week, so there were bound to be problems.

I had no idea it was going to be this hard to set up 5 rooms of endless :(

It would have been fine if people weren't getting kicked.

That ruined it for most people.

Thanks mate.

I've been talking with madbeats and Num1 itachi, i think next time if there are disconnects, it would be better for people if they waited so they can return to the original turns. (i.e ready up and pass a go until the turns are normal)

Without disconnects, it would have been fine, but people were getting kicked out for no reason :(

Group B and D ran perfectly btw.

Just waiting to see how group E went.

it's fine Distorted, i can understand your frustrations, it was even worse for me, trying to sort out the mess.

Adz, the groups on the site were fine, everything was good except group C.

I messaged you the wrong player, so that was my fault.

I sure hope it was the map pack, endless shouldn't be so hard, we've done countless over the last few weeks and never had problems.

Trust it to happen today :(

It's all Kreeeee's fault.

He planned the disruption today!

But yeah, 21 per lobby is great, set it to best of 7 rounds too :)

In all seriousness, these suggestion are great.

Anything that will help run it more smoothly is great, and i'm open to all all suggestions.

This is for all of us, so it's better we get something that everyone agrees on.

Today was a soft launch, just to test the water, hopefully next time we can iron out the issues we've been having and have everything turn out the way we expected it to.

Thanks again for everyone who participated today, i know it was a struggle, but it can only get better :)

Yeah, just a quick summary.

Group B, evol kid won, i was second, Zid third, Artheas got relegated lol

Group D, Salu won, zaaman, hyv, venom vulkan came last.

Group A, C, and E had problems with disconnects.

Not too sure if i can do anything with the results, i guess i'll just have to use this week to get the groups better for next week.

Conquerer Kenny was rated to be in B, but that was already full.

At least we know Art isn't group B material :p
