Xbox 360 Updates?

Hi

Where the hell do you get Xbox 360 updates? Love the console but the damn thing has me smacking my head off the desk when I try and do something like this.

Is there a list of updates in the Marketplace or something? To be spedific I'm looking for the update that lets you play DiVX through the Media "blade" (shame it doesnt do the Media Centre too )

Try playing a DivX file and it will prompt you to download an optional media update.

Get it all sorted, settle down and watch a movie, and half way through the console turns off. Try to turn it back on....and red ring of death.
