Hi there

I just purchased a Xbox360 Premium and when I registered it on xbox website it tells me the warranty expires 11/29/2009, there is no start date for the warranty either. I thought in the UK it was one year and that Microsoft had extended the warranty to 2-3 years for the RROD?

The MFR is 2008-08-16

Thanks

Michael

Even if it's second hand and you don't have proof of purchase, it'll be the warrenty of three years for certain issues from the manufacturing date on the back.

It's just going by the manu date on the back/linked to serial from what you've said.

Was this bought recently from a high street store, possible at a reduiced price/clearance offer? If so theyve probably just found it in the stockroom.

Technically as long as you have your receipt showing clearly a proof of purchase date/price then the store you bought it from has to deal with the initial 12months warranty anyway.

MS own extended warranty stuff will apply from teh manufacture date.
Might be wroth giving them a call if you only recently bought it, just looks like an old manu unit, with a receipt they should take the 3yr from that I would think

I bought it today from a well known high street store.

No where had any in stock I was going to buy the Arcade and get the 60GB, upgrade pack for £50 with headset, ethernet and 3 month gold subscribtion. Which would have come to over £180 with the Arcade console. Then notice two Xbox 360 007 Quntum of Solice 60GB bundles on the shelf for £165.

Is not a Jasper which is a bummer too.

The warranty on the website is there if you bought it second hand with no recipet as they can tell by the date it was manufactured + shipping time to stores when the 12 months would be up.

Otherwise if you have a reciept from the store you bough it from you have nothing to worry about :)

Ive just registered mine that I bought in May and its says that warranty expires 5/16/2010 which sounds right.

By the looks of yours its been returned to store and originally sold in Nov 2008, I havnt a clue if this has any impact of your warranty though as you have the receipt stating when you bought it.

BTW my MFR date is 2008-06-17, 2 months after yours......mines an Elite if that makes any difference.

I bought today from competitor.

Might want to remove the competitor name up there!

If it is indeed a 60gigger, on the Bond packaging I think someone may have played the old switcheroo at the store in question lol afaik the Xbox's were newer than that and the bond pack should have you at least at HDMI

I rang Microsoft technical support and he said the serial number I have him was for a 20GB Xbox 360. Along with the fact that the box had a security seal placed over another that was broke and the warranty expiring 11/09 resulted in me getting a full refund.

Now the one I have purchased was manufactured 02-19-2009 and the voltage is 12v--12.1A, is this a Jasper? Strange thing is the PSU has 186EB-1A 12V---16.5A. Have Micorsoft given me a Jasper console with an original PSU? Will iut just draw the power it needs?

Thanks

Michael
