XBox 360 wireless controllers turns on both xboxes in the house at the same time

right heres the scenario i have 2 xbox's one upstairs which is my main gaming console that i use for gaming online etc, the other is downstairs and is a bog std core with a 256Mb card
i plan on using the one in the living room as a media extender from my vista box upstairs.
however when im using the wireless remotes say downstairs, the xbox upstairs turns on and vice versa
is it possible to issolate the controllers so that they can only control they're corresponding xbox?

I had this problem with a media Remote.. the remote turned the Xbox and my HTPC on at the same time as there next to each other.. very annoying!

ive managed to set up my 2 controlers like what your after, i have one that turns on the xbox when its turned on and the other just turns on and connects to my pc via the wireless adapter.

i think i did it by having both on then with my 360 seting it to find controlers, press the button on the controler i wanted to use so they connect. then while it was still on do the same with the other controler for my pc, then i think they must be on different signals or what ever they do.

try turning them both on and connecting a pad to each one manualy.

make sure one remote is assinged to one xbox, used to happen to me in uni halls, my mates would turn on my 360 without me knowing after linking it to my 360

Strange I have 2 360's in the same room and only 1 pad which is assigned to the console turns it on and off and the other one does not come on.

yeah the older one used to use a wired controller but recently ive got 2 wireless controllers which used to be used as 2 player on the newer xbox however i have taken one downstairs and so i think that may be where the problem lies

When we play multiplayer in our house and sync up my housemates controllers his controller will turn my xbox from the floor above and not even directly above, at least 2 walls away.

When your xbox is in the same room you sleep in and you stir from sleeping to see the wall flashing green and this vibrating hum.. i thought we were being sodding invaded!

thats what used to happen to me, wake up hungover and the 360 turns itself on, scared the hell out of me

all sorted now :D resyncing each controller to the individual xbox did the trick as long as they are both #1 on separate xbox's they are ok

however if i decide to do a 2player on one of them LOL
