xbox keeps restarting when putting in component cable.

oh right it probably was the right cable that you cut then. did you cut it in the middle or on one of the pins?

Hope you got electrical tape over like I have.

I have opened up the metal box
it is v tight in there

I can see this black loop style cable
but it looks more like pin 2 and 4 not 26 to 28.

Is it that black wire in there? Very small loop on it?
 
I cut the middle, not bothered with any tape on it. Been using the stripped cable since the hdmi 360's came out with only the rebooting issue but that's solved now :)

I only had one small black cable that connected back to the connector, and it is a very small loop.
 
do you remember if the cable is right behind the optical input side?

I can see one looping black cable but it don't seem to be 26/28.

I presume cutting the black wire messes something up with component output, so with a cut wire the whole component/HD part breaks.
 
Hi all,

This might sound a bit of a stupid question but I was contemplating cutting off the wire that runs out of the box that I had to open up.

So I would only be left with the metal box with the optical cable running out of it.

Will that still give me the sound?
