Anyone here using a Kinect at 5 foot away from tv and is 6 foot 3? I been told it can work but I not going to go and splash out £300 and find it no good..

You could always chop your legs off at the knee's.

and to answer your question, the taller you are, the further back you have to be. When I was watching the GiantBomb Live Kinect Stream, Jeff (who is your height) had to step back a bit.

i only use it about 4 feet from my tele, and it works fine, im about 5.9

Of course it's not just for kids

I have 6ft between me and the Kinect, and it's only just enough (I'm 5' 11"), although it does slightly cut the top of my head off.

Game wise the Move has more adult themed games at the moment.

Space wise I would think that Move doesn't demand as much and obviously your height doesn't affect that.
