I can't imagine why anyone would buy one, isn't this just another disappointing wait until a 720/PS4 appears?

Cant see it personally, 360`s are cheap now anyway and even pre-owned can be had for less than £100.

I would say the lite arm version is probably aimed at those who want the likes of lovefilm, netflix, bbc iplayer etc all streaming to their TV, looks like a cheap media streamer. Thing is though, I can't see them selling to many to the general joe public for streaming media.

If you look past the fact it's not an Xbox like it's big brother, it's a device which you can do the following with:

- Watch TV catchup from BBC, CH4 and CH5.
- Watch live Sky TV.
- Watch Netflix and LoveFilm.
- Watch YouTube & similar services.
- Listen to music streaming services.

It can probably do more than what my Apple TV can.

At least it answers the next Xbox having no drive question!

Is this the big product launch for the Windows Live/Zune service merger I wonder?

Being able to connect 360 controllers/kinect etc will be a huge advantage over the ATV3.

That is a good point, But as a media hub I still see the Xbox OS abilities somewhat lacking, and a lot of stuff requires transcoding. So although in theory it is a good idea for those not interested in mainstream gaming, there are better alternatives out there with regards to a media hub.

Jailbroken ATV can do more in terms of media, however the appeal of a cheapish box that can do Sky Go plus a bit more would interest me, currently something an ATV can't do and it would be less hassle/better quality than plugging my iPhone/iPad/Laptop into the TV every time to watch Sky Sports.
