Is this actually possible? I've been checking on the Xbox/Internet and I can't find a single way to change from a Gold Membership to a Silver one. Microsoft's support website is, as usual, unhelpful.

There is a menu on the Xbox itself that says "change membership options", but when i go into it, it says there are none available, Hoorah.

Cheers,

do what i did before, get rid of payment method in the dashboard then when it comes to that time of the month, they soon get the hint

6.6 Refund Policies. Except as stated otherwise, or as otherwise provided by applicable law, all charges are non-refundable. If you signed up for an annual Service and paid the annual fee with your Payment Method, we may provide you a full refund of the annual fee if you cancel within the first 60 days of your Service. Additional information about refunds is available at http://www.xbox.com/live/accounts/default.htm.

You'll not get a refund if you try to cancel it, your Gold membership will just continue until the 12months are up, so if you have paid for it, you can't do much.

If you're still on the free month of Gold, just do as Steedie has said.

Does that not mean you could cancel after 59 days, get your money back, then resign up, cancel again to get your money back etc etc? :p

Probably, though I think they'd get a bit "hmmm" about it, and probably block your account/card or something.

There's the answer - they're going to get suspicious if you keep trying it
