My GF's little brother has just purchased a Wireless Adaptor for his XBox360.

They have a dwl-2000AP+ access point, but it will not connect to it, even with all the security i.e. wep, mac filtering. Turned off. The xbox can see the Point and lists it with good signal strength but is unable to connect. The red light on the Wireless NIC stays red....Found that on the net a few other people are having the same issue. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas? Or if they have it working with the d-link access point mentioned..

Dont really want to tell them they will need a brand new AP! But i suppose thats life....Laptops can connect to the point fine!!

Edit....Just looked on the internet, and it mentions the adaptor as being a bridge...Prosumably that still means that it is the same as a wireless NIC in a laptop essentially....? Or do you have to configure any additional settings on the AP?

I actually use the very same AP, however I use it in brigde mode with the 360 wired to it, the AP then links to my router via wireless and the rest of my network.

That probably isn't much help soon as you are using it a different way....I assume you have tried it with DHCP on and the 360 on Auto ip? And no DHCP and fixed ip? Also make sure the AP has the latest firmware installed.

Might be easier to help if you explain the whole topology. What does the AP connect to for an internet connection? Another router? Does this run as a DHCP server to?

Same here, I tried resetting my router, Resetting the Xbox, Untangling the Ethernet cable (was a huge mess  ) I thought my ethernet port on my 360 was broken at first because I saw 9 people online from xbox.com turns out it isn't just me then :)
