On a new 360 when you make a new gamertag via the dashboard (and not via Xbox.com) it will offer you 1 month free on Gold. This is limited to 4 new gamertags (and cannot be combined into 1 gamertag).

Depending on the previous owner using up the offer, you should be able to just make yourself a gamertag and get 1 month free.

All else fails I will check my 360 games later and see if I've got a 48hour code.

thats kool ill give it a try, however my damn power supply went kaput!!! wasnt officicial, of ebay so need to try and sort it asap

Try and give MS a call on the freephone Xbox line to see if you can get a replacement power pack for free. It can't hurt to try

- he's got a LIVE! sub so he won't be needing it anyway).

ok well i received they replacement today, but now my little brother has taken my only controller to my cousins house! just got a small question and thought id ask here. this psu and the previous one came with the power lead being american style, and so i had to use a converter. im wondering if it is ok/safe to just use a normal 3 pin computer psu wire?
