**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Got to be rubbish - MS confident enough to state November 2013 at E3 in July, then they release information that final (GPU) silicon can perform better than expected only a week or so ago - that just doesnt compute with a delay...

ps3ud0

So confident on their vision of the xbox one @ E3 and yet done 180 on everything ;)

If its going be anything imo going be linked with mass production and something must have gone belly up.

In certain regions (Belgium, Holland and other parts of Scandanavia) due to translations?

Sems you were right about certain markets:

http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/xbox-one-confirmed-markets

They've adjusted the launch from 21 regions to 13. Glad to be in the uk. :D

we have adjusted the number of markets that will receive Xbox One in November to 13 markets, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand, in November.

We remain committed to launching Xbox One in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, as soon as possible in 2014.

Wonder if there will be some form of faults like the RROD problems. So to speak. Overheating I can't see there being a problem but I have a feeling there might be some faults. It sounds a bit rushed to be a perfect release.

From that statement the selfish positive for us is more stock allocation, shame for the regions missing out! I'd be gutted. Massive pro for Sony here who will no doubt own the dropped regions.

If I remember correctly PS3 was much stronger in a bunch of those regions anyway so perhaps it make sense to focus marketing/stock availability and activities on core markets? Given the focus on things like voice recognition and support along with media and translations I guess it was a challenge to have it complete in time so the switch to focus on primarily English speaking markets?

Not sure how genuinely global the PS4 launch is although if they are spread thin with allocations globally it could explain the sold out for pre order status.

davey pitch if this is true are you just going to buy a ps4 asap after launch because you were planning on buying one anyway yes?

I'd bet money right now it's not true. However, if it is true, I would definitely give serious consideration to a PS4 at launch, though as I don't have a pre-order in I would have to wait for that as well. I'll be amazed beyond belief if that rumour is anything more than complete crap.

Slim heatsink is much thinner, far less fins, smaller fan, and no heat pipes for a start.

The fat 360 has heatpipes. Didnt stop it melting.

Came upon an interesting idea from something I read: do you think that MS have dropped certain territories in order to further saturate demand in more critical regions?

That wouldn't surprise me, given that Sony are no longer guaranteeing any pre-orders after 6th August. It's possible MS could sell more Xbox Ones simply by having more stock available.

We also know the mentality now, when a new one off product like this comes around, theirs those that have their pre-orders, then theirs more sales after from those that get whipped up in the excitement of it all, then those that immediately get to see their "mates" and go and want one themselves.
So being able to sell them off the shelf for the couple of weeks straight after would be very good momentum drivers.

I find that hard to believe, such a crucial part in the development and only NOW they have encountered a problem with it?
