I checked the Xbox website yesterday, it certainly seems to suggest that it's only the Day One edition that gets the game.

Weird, I might have read it wrong then. Going to highstreet today to see if any shops here have Day 1 editions or PS4s for pre-order. I am reluctant to order online as my language skills are not that great

I would suspect that as long as you pre-order one, it's the Day One you'll get. But yeah, better to confirm that.

I check this thread every couple of days to see if there is any new xbox one info and I always seem to come back to the same crappy arguments over the rumours.

That wierd because the Microsoft Store seems to suggest its for all pre-orders:

Well I've just looked through my e-mails to find the one GAME sent me about getting FIFA 14 free and it explicitly says "pre-orders for the day one edition will receive a free download of FIFA 14" so I guess it is just the day one editions that get it.

The "while stocks last" bit could be important though, as I guess it could mean that while the Day One editions are still available, you'll get Fifa. I believe the initial idea was anyone getting an Xbox One at launch would get a Day One edition whether they wanted one or not, so that's could be what they mean.

Would it be all that difficult to make more day one editions anyway? Hardware wise it's only difference is an etched controller

I expect its just that Day One editions are 'guaranteed' to have FIFA 14, while all other pre-orders should have them subject to normal stock availability. I dno why something so simple has been so confused (not aimed at you, just the whole situation), at end of day 'Day One' versions arent special just a type of pre-order...

I think the while stocks last may just refer to how many copies they have paid EA for?

Possibly originally it was more than the number of Day 1 units so non Day ones could have got it, but now they have made more Day Ones to match the amount of FIFA copies they have bought?

According to the GAME site it is only Day One Editions that get FIFA 14, and they are no longer available for pre-order.

It may be for all MS Store pre-orders, as I can only find the Day One edition on their site.

But I just played it safe (and its the same price), and pre-ordered the day one directly from them, as it also specifically states the bundle. It all seems a bit confusing. No wonder they haven't got a clue about hUMA, they can't get straight forward information on a bundled game right!

I think it's inevitable now that a non kinect bundle will come along not too long after launch to drag that price down to PS4 levels or lower. They are backing down on every thing and clearly will get battered on sales in the first few months.

As I heard the other day I'm not sure if it's a good thing or it just makes them look like they don't have a clue which direction they should be heading. As someone who really has no interest in kinect at all, it's great it's no longer needed to be plugged in but now without doubt you are spending an extra £££ on something you don't even want.

The gamble will be how long I have to wait for than kinectless bundle.

the mis information about HUMA came from AMD's marketing director Marc Diana, not MS or Sony.
