**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

exactly

Its an add designed to appeal to NFL fans who maybe weren't previously interested in an xbox to be show during NFL match ad breaks.

They will have different adverts for different target audiences. As already said, haters gonna hate.

The ads aimed for the NFL games on TV,
You think if XBox one was putting a TV add out in the UK it wouldnt dump it at half time on a big football match and put FIFA front and center.

NFL is a huge target market in the US, hell i wouldnt mind getting half of it here as it so far looks very well done, i just pray they could do something like that with footy and Sky here in the UK or UEFA, or formula one.

Sky do a great job with there coverage of sport but this stuff is a natural step forward.

If MS add Sky Sports/Premier League integration into the console, with all the added features the NFL has (like score updates and fantasy football) I think it would sell a fair amount of consoles for those features alone. It probably wouldn't appeal to a lot of hardcore gamers but I'd imagine a lot of casual gamers would love it.

It would primarily appeal to the casual gamers who want a media entertainment system, for me personally as i've said wouldnt care if they did it with football, after a week or so of the "new features" it would be back to watching it the normal way anyway.

Also for people who keep saying haters gonna hate, i've been a M$ fanboy since the 360 got released, so im not bashing the Xbox One at all, im positive it will be a succesful console im just sharing my thoughts on the ad which was based around TV after the backlash they got from there reveal regardless of NFL starting etc.

Nope. I've seen reports of the Xbox One being so quiet they were unsure just from listening whether it was actually on or not. I'm sure it'll ramp up a touch when gaming, but everything I've read suggests it'll be very very quiet.

This is something I really want. The noise of the PS3 & original 360 does my head in while they quickly heat the room.

I also read that one guy has three running constantly on his desk, and he can't hear them over his desktop.

Just saw this on CVG tweet...

Xbox One availability 'should feel a lot better than it did for 360'
Microsoft wants you to be able to walk into a store and find a console on launch day

Despite receiving record Xbox One pre-orders, Microsoft is aiming for consumers to be able to go into stores and find a console on launch day.

Speaking to Game Informer, Microsoft Game Studios vice president Phil Spencer said Xbox One availability "should feel a lot better than it did for 360" back in 2005.

"You want people to be able to walk in the store and buy one on day one, so you're trying to manage the inventory that isn't pre-sold," he said. "I want parents who don't think about pre-ordering electronics to be able to walk in and have a chance to find a box. There might be a line, but I don't want it to be that if you didn't pre-order in September, you can't get one. That doesn't feel like a great consumer experience.

"Availability should feel a lot better than it did for 360," he added. "If people want to pick up more controllers and games, they'll be there. We feel really good about our pre-order number, and we're managing it through allocation rather than demand. [Pre-order] isn't the business. It's way more important to me what happens when people walk in the store. The business is selling consoles."

You just said you weren't going to buy one because of the TV features. Stop posting **** if you don't want people to make those sort of accusations of you.

"Whats that ? The Xbox one has features aimed at NFL fans in america? But I don't like NFL, right that's it, I'm not getting one even though in the past I've been a massive xbox fan. This NFL stuff ruins it for me"

Its just a stupid illogical decision to post online.

Got an email from Amazon at 5:30am! My order was updated to EDD 22nd November :D can relax now

The NFL season starts this weekend, so of course they will advertise the features that link to it. The advert will be aimed at the US audience where American Football is the biggest sport. It's an incredibly sensible advert, I'm surprised you can't see that.

Arguably they don't really need to sell the console so much to Gamers, as most are already very well informed.

It's the people watching who don't have so much interest in gaming or only a casual or passing interest, getting them on board results in far higher sales.

exactly this, every single radio and tv station in the USA is currently ramping up an insane amount of adverts for tonights football and all the fantasy football leagues are advertising and grabbing the huuuuuuuge market in America. Anyone too thick to realise this is worth more this week to any company than games doesn't deserve the grades they got back at school.

Lol.. your missing the point and turning what i said out of context. I said its partially a reason why i wont be buying one after the reveal was all about TV and its at it again, theres many other reason as to why i'm going to go with the PS4 this is a tiny problem i had with it, i also said if it was football etc etc which i love i still would have zero interest init. You would have thought there first ad would have been about the console/features and games not just for NFL, regardless of the season starting etc.

ps4 fanboy is obvious :-/

Partial or not its a stupid illogical thing to say. It shouldn't have anything to do with you decision as it doesnt affect whether it will be a good games consoloe or not.
