As you can tell, apart from order the Xbox and plug it in I have hardly read a thing about it.

It is working, I was hoping you could tell it to change channels but it seems you still need a remote.
You can't at the moment, it's due to be patched in sometime.
Has anyone bought via Microsoft themselves, seems they have some stock of Xbox One (No Bundles etc)
Earlier I checked and I read about a date in december now there is no mention of that and next day delivery.
Anyone purchased one this way last minute?
Also what delivery service do they use?

will pick up an xbox at some point this generation but had to stick with PS4 this time around so i thought i should pop in and ask if anyone preordered through Tesco and if so did they deliver on release as i have my PS4 ordered through them and i would prefer it to arrive on time (got the day off work now but i need to take the wife to a funeral after dropping the eldest off at school so i dont want them to deliver before 11)
Has the finished downloading yet? I'm getting the same messages,but the games only half downloaded.

I purchased a Xbox day one with Fifa at 10am this morning, it shipped at 4pm and will be here Monday before 12. Its coming via UPS and has shipped from Tamworth.

It's a bit of a shame that you can't use the Kinect camera to take a photo for your avatar. I know you're inviting bums and boobs and whathaveyou but that could easily be enforced. If Kinect can recognise a change in your heartbeat, I'm sure it can recognise anatomical bumps and lumps.
So half the time Kinect cant even sense my voice, i have to tell it like 3-4 times to turn xbox on or off. It wont play a game if i tell it to, i have to use the controller to play the game...tried using different terms like xbox play forza 5 or xbox play game...doesnt seem to work.
Any ideas??
Still loving the console, Forza 5 is epically good and COD Ghosts isnt too bad either.

Are you leaving a slight pause after saying 'Xbox'? That might help. Try saying Forza Motorsport 5 as well.
It is working very well for me, quite impressed. "xbox <pause for a heartbeat> go to call of duty ghosts" works fine.
I am enjoying ghosts so far. No BS spawns yet and I am liking how quick it is to kill/die, but then I have always preferred hardcore 'til now.
From what I see it's downloaded. It got to 100%....

Yep ive done that, say xbox...pause off etc but no dice. As for Forza, its a bit of a mouthful, would be easier if we could just tag our own commands ie xbox play forza 5 for instance or xbox play cod.
Perhaps its my dodgy canadian/british accent its finding difficult to understand lol. I had my mates 7 yr old girl come round and it was listening to her every command i told her to say lol....damn xbox dont like me lol
It will pick up my wifes voice easily too....maybe ill just re-do the kinect settings again and see if it works any better.
Does it make a difference as to where the kinect is put??, i have it put under the TV, TV comes with a stand so ive just plonked it on there for time being. Perhaps it could be that its too close to the TV's speakers?? as when im playing a game then tell the xbox to pause, it doesnt pick it up until ive said it a few times.
