**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I agree, hence my original point that this is great for anybody who already wanted an XB1, but pointless for everybody else.
I think it might sway a few die hard Fifa fans (those who play nothing but Ultimate Team), but yes, I'd generally agree that it won't sway that many people back to Xbox if they've decided to swap to the PS4 :)

PS+ and Live GOLD are both needed to play online so that is an unfair point. regardless, I think the RRP of both services is £40 per year. Most people get them for £30-35 regularly with vouchers etc.

So 389 for the PS4 and and 479 for the XBox One. Makes a difference of around 90.00

Personally, yes. Amazon and many places did this with VITA, below RRP deals and bundled games that saved you about 20% of the cost of the game. I think same happened with WII-U as well.

If PS3 is £349, I am expecting £390 with COD/FIFA or £380 with any other launch first party title.

Expecting equivalent for XB1 as well.

Hope you are right - Ive not seen any word of anything like this yet so was assuming it wasnt going to happen, not pre-launch bundles that actually save you money (or in MOOGLEYs point a free game), more like forcing you to buy a bundle if you only wanted a console (which happened for this gen)

EDIT: As a tangent because someone vaguely mentioned it, MS could have just given XBL free for a year - that would have benefited everyone and surely been cheaper to them than what theyll pay EA for free FIFA no? I want to say another tangent but I know what thread Im in :p

ps3ud0

Just another positive for you then Davey isn't it.

:p

Going back to this a second. I know you're only taking the mick, but I think I should say something here. I know I come across as an Xbox fanboy at times, but really I'm just being honest about how I feel about the console and the games. I love the Dead Rising series, I own them all on both Xbox 360, and on the PC. I adore the Forza series, I think it blows GT out of the water, and I also own all of them. The Xbox controller for me is the best controller ever, and the new one seems even better. I have an Xbox Live subscription that runs into the middle of 2014. Exclusives like Ryse look really interesting, and I am definitely interested in seeing what developers may do with Kinect V2. Going with what I already know I love, getting the Xbox One over the PS4 is an easy decision, even though the PS4 is the more powerful and cheaper console.

I am very much looking forward to getting a PS4 next year though. InFamous looks great, I can't wait to get my hands on that. You will never, ever, see me spout any hate towards Sony or the PS4, unlike some of the more obvious Sony fans and their hatred towards MS and the Xbox One :)

Totally agree with everything here, these are the exact reasons I went with the XB1, even without FIFA free and even if it was £100 more I'd go XB1 because of the controller and exclusives.

Im happy with FIFA 14 free with my pre-order.

Now getting very excited about Xbox One, would have liked a release date though. Hopefully if Sony annouce the PS4 release date tomorrow, MS will jump on it and release their console a week or two earlier ;)

I reckon after recent PR disasters, thats why MS didnt annouce a release date. Trump Sony and play them at their own game :)

Not a bad video demoing Kinect in a hybrid-style way still with the normal controller, not sure how well a FPS would work if you are sat down on a sofa/chair playing it that way though (dodging).

About 2:23 shows roughly how close you can stand, but also shows the slight lag between human movement and on-screen...

I'd like to see that, but it'll be very interesting to see what happens if Sony announce a late October release date. Can MS match that, or even beat it? I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

Actually, you're getting the Xbox One, Fifa 14 and Kinect for only £30 more than a PS4 and Fifa 14. Obviously if you have no interest in Kinect it makes no difference, and if you dislike Fifa it makes no difference, but for those like me who love Fifa, and are interested in Kinect, it's now a great deal. The £50 I would've spent on Fifa can go on another game like Ryse.

That's pretty much how I'm seeing it too. Was going to get an One anyhow, plus was getting FIFA 14 for the 360 so it's worked out quite well for me. :)
Could do with a release date though!

Disclaimer: Far from a fanboy/girl, got a PS4 pre-ordered too and excited to see their conference later. :p

As far as release dates are concerned, I think they both need to be sensible there and release when they know they'll have enough stock available. Trying to one-up each other will only annoy the customer if it means there are fewer units available at launch because they haven't had time to manufacture them or get them to retailers. Or for that matter, having their online infrastructure etc tested and ready.

Any news on minimum distance required for kinect? Biggest gripe I have with the existing Kinect is the need for a room the size of St Paul's.

As I've said before, MS are quoting 2 feet as the minimum distance.

Regarding the CoD information, Activision seem to be making a big deal of the whole "100% dedicated servers for every single multiplayer game of CoD, thanks to the cloud" in the xbox conference, it will be interesting to see if the PS4 version retains the P2P system and how that might sway people.
