Xbox One S or PS4

Crikey I've really put the cat amongst the pigeons here! I'll give it a week and see what happens I think judging from what has been said here. My mates are pretty much all PS4 gamers an my only gripe with PS4 is that they all seem to moan about the controller sticks being poor quality and buy covers for them.

I do like the idea of FUT legends as I will primarily be playing FUT (I am currently on a PS3 and decided enough is enough and I have to join the next level consoles) I don't have need for 4K as my TV is a 720P plasma which I don't feel any need to upgrade as I quite like it!

Has there been talks of the PS4.5 due to come out by the end of the month or is it all speculation?

The PS4 controller sticks wore away earlier in the generation. They've fixed that now. I ended up buying replacement sticks online for £3 and been fine since.

I would wait to see if Sony are bringing out that new PS 4.5 this year. At the very least the current PS4 might become cheaper when retailers make space for the Slim.

If you like games like Forza horizons or gears/halo get the xbox slim S on 22nd September.

If none of these games interest you wait and see what Sony announce soon and get the PS4, personally it has the better exclusives but the xbox does have some great exclusives like Forza.

Tough call this one. I have both, though my PC still gets the most use. The consoles are mainly for the exclusives. I could get most of the Xbox exclusives on PC now but a lot of the ports have been really bad, barring only a couple.

With regards to the exclusives, both consoles have their strengths, and despite me almost letting my PS4 go recently due to some problems, I ended up getting it replaced and at the moment I'd say that has the better line up. It was worth the purchase for Bloodborne alone. Uncharted 4 is also excellent, albeit not as near-perfect as some reviews made it out to be. Still very much worth buying though. Xbox of course has the Forza games, and Gears Of War 4 looks like it could be a return to form too.

On the hardware side, I prefer the Xbox pad and interface over the PS4, but there's not a lot in it. The triggers on the PS4 pads do feel a little flimsy though, and I feel like I have to be very careful with them.

As many have said, if you are into multiplayer then whichever console most of your friends have, would be a good choice, but you really can't go wrong with either. But, as has also been pointed out, the Neo is seemingly right on the not so distant horizon, and the slim could lead to a reduction in price of the original PS4. Maybe worth hanging on just a couple of weeks?
