Xbox series X Live game Event

One nice touch:
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Ubisoft)
  • Call of the Sea (Raw Fury)
  • Chorus (Deep Silver)
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Project Red)
  • Dirt 5 (Codemasters)
  • Madden 21 (EA Sports)
  • Scarlet Nexus (Bandai Namco)
  • Second Extinction (Systemic Reaction)
  • The Ascent (Neon Giant/Curve Digital)
  • Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (Paradox Interactive)
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Sega)
All of those games will be cross-gen using the "smart delivery" feature; if you buy (presumably digitally?) for Xbox One, you get the Series X version as well (and vice versa).

Also goes some way to explaining the visuals; the bulk of today's games seem to be for Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X.

Yeah the Ascent and second extinction looked decent for me. I like how they said Dirt would be 4k60fps but didn't state what resolution you would be playing at when using 120hz mode hmmm.

Hasn't it already been confirmed that there won't be any Series X exclusives at launch? I'm pretty sure that's why they've introduced the 'optimized for series X' logo.

And all below said visual representation of what they expect the final game to be like aswell, take that either way at the moment could be worse or better

Games from Xbox Game Studios will be cross-generation. They said nothing of games from developers outside of XGS.

Being reported that Scorn is a Series X exclusive. The game has a Steam page though, and started out as a Kickstarter campaign, so maybe not?

Could be console exclusive but Microsoft won't stop a game from appearing on PC now. The same is true with The Ascent - exclusive to XSX but also on Steam.

It's probably gonna be dynamic res, my guess 1440p.

There will be, for sure, just not by Microsoft.

It's been shown for 2 or more years now, based on the work of HR Giger which is where Ridley Scott got all his alien aesthetics from.

And Zdzisław Beksiński

Was a bit underwhelming really. Nothing really made me go wow not sure the point of it other than to try and get something out there. Was hoping for more on the new Assassins Creed too....

Yeah, there were some pretty moments but nothing that made me feel "wow, next gen is going to be awesome". I think you'll see developers playing it safe for at least a year or two, next gen is just going to mean 4K visuals but when PS4/XB1 are so popular there won't be many games that leverage the power to deliver something genuinely new.

Was disappointing that AC Valhalla was just cut scenes, makes me suspect the gameplay is going to be identical (not that I mind much as the last games were great).

Well....unless they show us something far more impressive in the next few months, looks like I'll save myself £500 or whatever the price was going to be...

Few things missed in this discussion about the live stream :p

The initial live stream went down due to the 35000 down votes. Then a new video appeared, with almost as many down votes . And then a third video is listed treading more dislikes and likes and people complain why Microsoft/Xbox removed the down votes or reset the videos from the live stream :D

Hopefully the 1st party show in July will be good, Microsoft own like 15-16 studios now with maybe more to be announced. Be good to see what all of them have been up to!

Going by the reactions, negativity and generally unfavourable criticism I'd say most felt that way. IMO They should have waited until July when they have Halo to show off and hopefully a lot more actual game play content from other studios.

3/10 from me.
