Xbox Wireless controller lag on PC

Have connected my xbox controller (its the xbox one wireless version) to Windows 10 pc via bluetooth but there is awful input lag to the point where the game is unplayable, stuttering at sub 10 fps. Happens on all games, so definitely something wrong somewhere.

The controller firmware has been updated too.

Can you connect via USB cable, just to rule out/narrow down the issue?

In my experience, connecting over Bluetooth was laggy and with repeated disconnects. I bought the Windows 10 wireless dongle for it and that cleared the issues up.

Only way to resolve it was to remove the drivers then reinstall the xbox one controller again then fast forward a few days/weeks and problem was back again.

Mines generally fine on BT, onder if its certain BT versions or adaptors?
