Playing PD0, having a great game on CTF, screen goes funny and hangs.

Turn console off then on, and now 3 red lights :(

damn!
 
Hmmm. Well turning it on at the power didn't work, but turning it on with the controller did.

Played for about 30secs and then crashed again.

O well, looks like a call to MS.
 
Have you anyway of backing your save games up? Or are all your saves linked to your Achievements, will it read what Achievements you have and automatically save your games to those points?

Hopefully as I've a memory unit plugged in so it should be a simple case of removing that and keeping it safe.

Is there a website that has contact numbers for 360 faults as my box is in the attic with all the stuff in. Any ideas of turnaround?

Apart from one that I know of, has those console that have been repaired been working fully? What about the serial number when you register it? Do you technically have 2 consoles or do they repair rather than replace?
 
Mine was replaced, different serial.

This time when i called up to get it exchanged the guy said to call back to register the new serial number. I will if i can be bothered, but surely they should look after that side of it. Just another inconvinience.
 
I must admit, I've dismissed all the reports of dodgy consoles upto now as purely being normal for a major electronics launch, but over the last few days there have been quite a few from here that have been fine and then messed up which is quite worrying.

Yeah, I wish there was something to narrow it down to. I know Tried&Tested has had some real bad luck, and quite a few people, myself included, have mentioned the surge protectors.

I've only ever had one crash on any game, PD0 after the 2nd-3rd day of owning the console, since then it's been perfect. Heat/Cold hasn't affected it, turned on and played with no problems at all.

But there does seem to be a sudden surge again of problems, hope it's not an ongoing thing.
 
im worrying about mine, been fine from launch!

only problems are the common PGR3 ones!

ive recently moved things about to give it tonnes of airflow also!
 
I've only known Core owners so far :(

I've got a Premium pack, that has graphics glitching but it's the loss of HDD that worries me :( So I've put off calling M$ until I hear of more Prem's that had been repaired/returned without sending the hdd back.
 
I wonder if the reason there's a lot packing up on here is because they were all bought from the same place, maybe due to a thread saying 'x has stock' ? That'd mean a bad batch, which would make sense. Maybe a thread where people can say when and where they got theirs, so we can see if there is a pattern? Mine was bought at launch and has been fine so far (touches every woodern thing he can find!)

True, but mine was bought on launch day too.

Good idea though, if there is a trend. If it helps the date of manufacter was 4th October 2005.

I've got a prem and when I reported mine last Sunday they told me not to send my HDD back. I am currently waiting for my 360 to be sent back which should arrive either tomorrow or Tuesday (7 day turn around MS said)
 
If I ever need to send mine back, they're not getting the HDD or PSU, i've heard numberous reports of people not getting their PSU's sent back!
