XBOX360 Overheating

Yup, you need to keep them well ventilated. Mine's frozen a couple of times, but it's now in a more open space and is doing fine.

Defo a good idea to keep your 360 in a place which will not restrict its airflow.

Mine's locked up a couple of times but I don't think it was due to overheating

Hes asking what caused the lock up if it wasnt overheating.

Mine has only locked up twice since launch, once accessing the guide during PGR3 (which was a known issue), and once whilst playing King Kong.

Doubt it was a heat issue for me, more like a glitch with the OS in the background.

Mine froze when playing the Test Drive Unlimited and Fight Night 3 demos, but it wasn't overheating and im not sure if it was because they are timed demos.

TD demo was buggy as hell, and known for locking up when you were connected to the TD servers.

Mines overheated a few times, but it still works.

Errrr it shouldn't crash period...... (Provided you have located and used it correctly as described in the manual)

If it does then your 360 is faulty and you are entitled to have it replaced.
Give MS a ring and they will replace it, MS's aftersales is second to none from my experience.

I dont think I have ever owned a console that hasnt crashed in some form or another (even my Mega Drive did a few times!)

A seemingly random crash doesnt necessarily mean a fault. A glitch can theoretically occur in virtually any sofware/hardware environment.

It's when the crashes are frequent that there is an obvious problem.

I bought it off the members market and it came with no invoice. Could i still have it replaced if it does turn out to be faulty?

Exactly,

My old PSone and PS2 used to lock up from time to time
