Hi everyone,

Just been playing with the new update and my god it's good, massive well done to the xbox team this is the update to end all updates.

Loading times off the hard drive are great, only tested dead space but it's near on N64 cart loads, have the elite so it was all noise but now it's near silent, this update is going to give a whole new life to xbox.

Roll on GOW2!

When you play the game from the hard drive how often does the disc spin? Is it constantly spinning at like 1 speed or does it just spin every now and then?

Odd, seeing as nearly everyone else has said it makes minimal difference

I did say near not like!, but if you have played dead space it loads quick to start with so loading from the hard drive just makes it feel super fast.

The preview video i saw was on GTA and it was about 7 secs faster than disc which is not a great deal faster but it is faster so take a quick loading game on that scale and you can maybe understand why it's near cart loading times.

Overall the system is much better, with new options for HDTV settings over HDMI, much the same as the PS3 however you do need the tv and amp to support the option.

Overall it's what the xbox needed, come Nov 19th 360 oweners will be very happy.

Hi from what i can tell it does not even spin once, you only require the game in the drive so you can press (y) on the icon to open the load from hard drive screen.

In short no disk, no option, thats how it seems to work very basic but effective, so it's the same noise from the time you turn it on to the time you finish playing.

So when you choose to load off the hard drive, does it take some time for the Xbox to originally do this or is it pretty much instant?

Presumably the game still quits if the disk is removed?

Hi you need to install the game first via the same option screen (press y) on the game icon, it takes about 10 mins to install dead space, will test some otehr things later today, as it's Fall Out 3 on PC for me today, and ocne you press load it's very quick
