Hi,

I tried to get my Wireless Xbox 360 Controller working on my PC last night, with no joy. I thought I could use my USB recharge cable. Guess I was wrong. I downloaded some drivers from the Microsoft website and it is detected, though it does not show up in control panel. Has anybody else used a wireless controller with a recharge cable? I know the hard wired ones work but don't really want to fork out for one. Just wanted to try it out on GRID to see what it is like with a pad.

Cheers

i have the wired 360 controller for pc, just downloaded drivers from microsoft and it works perfect, no idea about the wireless.
But, it does work great in GRID, nice and easy controls

Well I plugged it into my controller, boshed into a USB slot, windows made the sound when A device is connected to acknowledge that it has picked up a device. It then tried to find a driver, at which point I downloaded a driver and it installed it. Thats is as much as I can tell tell you. Other than I'am on XP Home 32bit.

I don't believe that the charger cable actually carries any data, it's just for charging the pad, and the 360 wireless pads use a proprietary connection type (not bluetooth like WiiMotes) so I doubt it's possible.
