Xcom steam pack

Long time xcom fan and all the talk of the new one is giving me urges to play through EO, TFTD and Apoc again. Unfortunately I only have a netbook at the moment, 1.6 atom 2gb ram, is this enough to run it?

I realise EO and TFTD need very little to run but was wondering if the use of Dosbox and such like ups the requirements?

They will run fine, dosbox doesn't require much and I have played these fine on a netbook before.

I'm sure you would if you can get past the graphics. Apart from that the games have aged very well in terms of gameplay.

They have a lot more freedom than the new game to play how you want, for example you can keep your high ranking troops back taking the kills and hire cannon fodder rookies to send in as scouts every mission (you can have 12 soldiers in the skyranger, more I think once you build more advanced vehicles), you can build multiple bases, have multiple squads, sell all your unwanted equipment, and everything just feels less scripted in general.

Went a head and bought it, lost a whole afternoon to enemy unknown

Ran perfectly on my netbook.
