xenon bulbs

Well I had my CBIs fitted today and one light is still slightly yellower than the other. Any ideas? I have no idea as the bulbs also include the igniters.

The bulb itself is in properly not slightly angled? That can upset the colour depending on angle sometimes.

I have AFL lights so I'm wondering if the projector is slightly skew? I guess I need to get the car against a white wall and actually look at the colour of the beam rather than the colour directly of the lamp.

Only one way to find out :p

I had Osram Xenarc in my old car but fancy checking out the newer Xenarc CBIs as they seemed to be raved about on e46fanatics. I had no reason to spend extra cash as the non CBI did fine on the previous car but the new one has the stock bulbs so this gives me an excuse finally and Amazon have a D2S pair for £73...

I need some new Xenon bulbs for my SL, one of them has gone really blue compared with the other and it looks a bit stupid. I need "D2S" style, but i am really unsure whether to go brap brap or not with the colour, OEM is 4300K.

Is there any reason that you guys are going for branded expensive bulbs specifically? Generic Xenon D2S bulbs come in at around £20/set....

There was a post on e46fanatics showing the physical differences between genuine and generic/fake D2S bulbs, common failures of the cheaper ones were burning out the holster, failing completely, colour shift on either bulb early into the life etc.

You could be fine though of course as it's still luck of the draw.

Personally I'd only go Philips/Osram, tried and tested and consistent quality :)

The CBI Xenarc bulbs are 5000K but not blue blue, more cool white, stock bulb will be circa 4200K, more neutral white with a hint of yellow in the hotspot area.

I suppose it is a bit risky with regards to the other components in the car, the ballasts etc are mega expensive for example. Let us know how you get on with yours :)

The CBIs are so well-regarded because they offer the pure white daylight colour temperature of 5000-5500k but with the same or better brightness than other 4300k bulbs. They're excellent. Just make sure you buy a genuine set from a reputable seller such as Powerbulbs

If they are fake at that price then i will change tack and get a £20 set which at least i know are fake from the off.

I refuse to spend big money on a light bulb...let us know mrk?
