PinkFloyd said:Cooling is a Zalman 9500pro (probably badly mounted - I did it in a rush stupidly) with the fan at about 8v
Nope just stating things as I see them, you can go argue with yourselfeasyrider said:You have no arguement here

PinkFloyd said:Well just took the side of my case off, seems the reason its so hot atm is the ambient. My 8800gts kicks off so much heat....
Under load now, same settings as previously at 63 on the hottest core with the cpu fan right up. 66 with the fan set to about the middle on the controller (same as above test with hotness)
Think I need to sort out some ducting or something, damn 8800...

Bito said:It might be worth posting what the CPU Vid shown in coretemp is for your processors guys......mine is 1.2250v.
I notice that yours is 1.3125v PinkFloyd.
Yeh same cooler as far as I am aware, never found the heat coming off of the back was that warm :/ - yet the heatsink itself is quite hot to the touch (not uncomfortably slow, I'm confused since my mates 8800gts is cold to the touch yet is an overclocked card. But then the 880gts in my brother computer is also hot to the touchelfy said:the gts hsf is like the gtx yeh? some exit vents inside the case, some outside? feel the air coming out the back, it seems quite cool compared to the air coming out the inside vents. you could always cover up a couple of the internal slits, force more hot air out the back vent and lower the ambient inside

Do me a favour Easy, don't go out of your way looking for agro, lets just keep the conversations civil, everyone gots a viewpoint and everyone is free to 'politely' express their viewpoint ok??

PinkFloyd said:Yeah... What does that mean in reality, mines a lower quality chip?![]()
Maybe it is something to yours being a slightly different chip, although I would have thought a q6600 would have required a higher cpuVID than a lower clocked chip :/.
PinkFloyd said:Anyway....
Just rebooted and dropped my voltage down to 1.225 in bios for ****s and giggles thinking it would even boot.... It did.
Well, its currently sat at full load and has been for the last 5 minutes (wow) which bear in mind I wasn't expecting it to boot with how much this board undervolts, I'm happy with.
Will report back in the later / tomorrow morning! lol
