Hey guys,

Having a few problems with my x-fi xtreme gamer in windows 7, wondering if anyone can help me! When i alt-tab between games or load games my sounds goes all crackly/popping and sometimes cuts out

Does anyone know a solution for this? its driving me nuts :(

So far iv tried:

Different Drivers,
Changing pci slot,
Changing ram,
Reinstalled windows

Any ideas?

In the Creative Control Panel thingy, have you tried switching between the modes? Like gaming, entertainment and whatever the other one is?

I noticed that before I solved the snap-crackle-pop issues with the BIOS flash, it would always do it non-stop in the Entertainment Mode.

im using a asus p5n-e sli also could you send me a link to the pax drivers at all? i tried the daniel k ones and there no different for me

I guessed you'd be using an Asus board. Apparently they are particularly bad for getting snap-crackle-pop issues with.

Mine was an Asus board on the comp where I had those issues... ;)

To be honest apart from a single gigabyte board ive always used Asus and never had any problems with the numberous X-Fi cards ( Elite Pro, Extreme Music, Xtreme Gamer ) and mobos ( S939, AM2, S775 and 1156 ) that ive tried.

Updating the BIOS can help sometimes.

Sorry man, I can't think of anything else that might work, apart from doing some research into EMI shielding and see if that works. Otherwise, do what I did and get yourself an Asus Xonar card... ;)
