I cant connect to CSS via Xfire :(

I have fully updated CSS, HL2 etc , and have the latest xfire

CoD2 works fine, but CSS doesnt recognise being installed, and i cant force it to, since they ditched the "find software" thing and have a "browse for exe" replacement, which is fine except CSS doesnt have a direct EXE, and using the steam.exe with the switch from the Desktop icon doesnt work

Anyone able to help ?

quoted from xfire forums.

"You must first:

1. Exit Xfire.
2. Run CS:S.
3. Exit CS:S.
4. Run Xfire.

Check Tools | Launch menu.

Xfire is looking for the root folder where your Windows registry says the game exe exists.

I'll use Steam games as an example.

If Steam was not "installed" normally (example: you copied it from a backup drive to a new hard drive) it will not have registry tags created for it and Xfire cannot detect or Launch any Steam games since we are looking for that key pointing to Steam.exe.

So you should be applying:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam

or wherever your Steam.exe is... "

Heres how i got flatout 2 to work..

I ran the game, then minimised out.

I then went to options, and clicked find installed software and browsed to the game folder and found the folder, clicked apply and then it appeared in my status and now logs my time.

Try that.
