With SLi or Xfire, do you have to keep the clock speeds of both cards syncronised? (sorry may be a noob question) and if not, does doing so result in better - more optimised performance?

XFire and SLi...clocking/overclocking

with SLi the faster card will slow down and auto sychronise whilst Xfire allows the 2 cards to run at their own separate speeds.
