hi can anyone shed some light on this for me please will this run a 8800gts without a problem ,ive read that the card must be run with 16xpcie or which other sutible mobo should i buy

Looking on the ASRock site i would say it was fine. The primary slot on the board is a true 16x slot for definate. But tbh i've heard that although the 8800 series is listed as needing 16x pci-e slots they will work at 8x.

Wait for someone to confirm but i believe you'll be fine!

Yes, it runs fine. The primary slot is a 16x, the secondary is a 4x. In Crossfire 1 mode it runs an aggregate 2 x 8x.

It's a great motherboard, but it obviously doesn't overclock very well as has been reported many, many times.
