XFX 4870- atmkdag

I was running left 4 dead and everything froze for about the 30seconds was expectign a BSOD but instead it did rejoin to the game and worked fine but unfortunately at the time it did freeze a tank had come to say hi to me.

After, alt tab to home screen had warning symbol in bottom right tool tray saying:

atimkdag error message. "the display driver failed and recovered successfully"

OS is vista home premium 64bit

Anyway of resolving this? as i seem to be getting a few crashes and BSOD every now and again.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I get this if my voltages on my CPU are too low, have you tried bumping it up a notch or two? What's your settings at the moment?

what vcore when the CPU is at full speed?

I've found in my experience it's related to VCORE, I can replicate it by lowering my VCORE and I have 2 screens

Sounds like a cpu stable prob, but also Left 4 dead is buggie as hell. And your using ati video card as well

yea using an e7400 and xfx 4870 all @stock

All i have done is put but CPU in mobo sort of speak. Not touched Voltage or overclocked it as of yet.

When i do get a BSOD it again is a driver problem.

Had this before, in my experience it was the VCORE.

Try setting manually to the CPU's default of 1.4V if you're running default clocks.

add another 0.3 V to CPU making it 1.364v

I have ran Prime95 for 2hours and did not get this problem.
