XFX 5700 DD Ultra

I've only ever had one XFX card. It was gimped on the memory (can't remember which model, maybe 4870) but they'd cheaped out on the components so it performed about 15% below the reference model. I was really annoyed when I discovered this so NEVER again. If you want a card that offers the cheapest components you can get away with fitting on a graphics card XFX are the best choice!

That is something I've found with XFX they always cheap out somewhere in my experience - usually with the product having a fairly defined lifespan. Funny enough my first experiences of it was with the XFX nVidia GeForce FX 5900XT and 5700 Ultra - it is so long now I can't remember what it was but some component on those cards was failing after just months because they used a cheaper part than other brands.

I've had two XFX cards in the past. Both had some odd issue with 2D clocks and artefacts. I wasn't impressed. Had MSI, Sapphire and Powercolor without any issues.

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and bought it when the bay had the 20% off a competitor. The card is really great actually and following the guide as mentioned in the OP where they flash the same model to an XT, I'm seeing the card surpass XT frequency at 70% fan curve. Actually really impressed with it.
Good luck to you, I guess 20% off is hard to ignore. Have fun!

I got the same deal. Which bios are you using on the card? I always get "subsystem id mismatch" when i try an XT bios.

Hi, one of the THICC bios will have a look when I'm on the PC. I had the same issue but some obscure video on YouTube helped me over come it.

Got one of the BIOS to work! Picked the same one as some dude in a youtube vid. Seems to have worked, but the boost clock never gets very high, maybe 1975mhz. I'm pretty sure the figures in the BIOS are something like 2100 or 2150mhz.

Guys what temps do you have?? Mine are 50c in idle, 78c in full load, junction temp(what ever that means) 96c.. That is in new fractal g case .

GPU running between aroung 1850-1925mhz, loaded it's 67c and hotspot at 75c. Memory gets to 85c. Case is a CoolerMaster MB530P. The Fractal one should be fine though. Idle they go down to 44c, 44c, 52c.

I had an Xfx 290 which i got from OCUK which was great and no problems but im intrigued by what Gibbo wont tell ;)

Done more testing and my RX570 runs everything fine, DX11, DX12, Battlefield 1, 5 everything works.
My RX5700 though runs everything except Battlefield 5 in DX11. It will run it in DX12 though. DX11 and it locks PC up instantly after launching game.

i did force flash one of the thicc ones but it 'bricked' that bios. just as well it's got two.
I can't recall which VBIOS I used exactly now as I renamed the filename. What I'm seeing from GPU-Z though is that it's a 1925mhz boost clock and none of the XT VBIOS are aligned to that which is odd. I may re-flash soon as the temps are very much under control at 70% fan speed.

Yeah I’ve seen the same thing.
