Hi guys, asking this question on behalf of my friend.

He's got x2 5850's in XFire but one card runs at around 90-100% usage while the other one runs at around 50-60% usage. He has the latest ATi drivers installed and an i5 2500K @ 4.6Ghz. He's using the game DC Universe to test at the moment and he's reading the GPU usage with MSi Afterburner, again newest release.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well that could be a problem there for a start.

Also, if he is playing max settings (Everything on ultra and having either 2x or 4x MSAA) then he will be lacking VRAM if he is using above 1200P resolution.

Is he getting any stuttering issues? Also, what fps is he getting?

He's at 1080P so 2GB shoudn't be a problem with the games he plays. I'll get him to uninstall the display driver and install the Catalyst Suite. He get's no stuttering/pausing issues what so ever on any games, it's just that 1 card only goes up to 50-60% usage and he wants to know why. He gets 90+ on DC Universe all maxed out with x4 AA/AF.

Crossfire doesn't double the VRAM on the cards.

All he needs to do is install control suite and download CAP 2 then report back.

If he is fine with the way it is and is not causing him any issues, why fix something thats not broken?

its only i gig per card athough that shouldnt be a problem at 1080 most of the time . also try different games to see if the problem is across the board
cheers
