Do not Run OCCT or FURMARK * i have tested this bios extensivly in the following benchmarks and all work perfectly.
FURMARK and OCCT will roast your VRM`s and cause the card to FREEZE or BLACK SCREEN. these problems never happen in realworld games.

Benchmarks tested. : I7 @4.2
Vantage : 30k
Heavenly Benchmark = 5 run thoughs : no crashes.

Few games that have been tested : Starcraft II @4xaa all maxed. : perfectly smooth 2+ hours gamplay.
Resident Evil 5 Benchmark loop 8xaa all maxed, 10 loops vsync disabled = Passed.
Alien Vs Preditor 2xaa 1 hour 20 minutes : Passed.
Mafia II @in game settings all maxed / Phys Disabled / benchmark 3 loops 93fps

Those are just some benchmarks and games tested with this modified bios.

Just remember the fan profile has been tweaked and optimized to keep those VRMs cool so if your after quiet then stay away from this bios as its very loud when in 3d.

Hi Virus - would be interested to understand how you are getting on with bios? Whats the advantage of using this bios over a stock bios @ 950/1200
 
Have used one in the past but would not bother with custom BIOS as default tbh anymore for overclocking as my default setting is actually slightly undervolted core @ 735 with vram @ 1250 which is quiet. Then I have my 27/7 OC profile which is 950/1313 for when I actually need it which is loud :D - my PC is in the lounge so when others aren't around I crank it up and use headphones or just turn the volume up a few db (Sapphire 5970 OC).



Just did a run with Unigine looping .. fan on MAX!! :D

Sorry mate but if it can't handle OCCT or Furmark then it's not stable and potentially not safe either :mad:

Yeah I know! Because we really encounter Furmark levels of stress in every day titles RIGHT NOW!

I put Modern Warfare 2 on the other day and BAM 95 degree VRMs!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously guys, every day gaming stresses out a GPU EVERY BIT AS MUCH AS FURMARK.

If you can't run FURMARK for AT LEAST 50 hours, your card is unstable and the VRMs could potentially EXPLODE and CATCH FIRE at ANY MINUTE causing LOSS OF LOVED ONES and most importantly LOSS OF 5970!!!!!!!

Rubbish, don't state opinion as if it were fact! Not safe for what? Playing games over a couple of years?

My clocks are stable for gaming and that is enough for me! I haven't played furmark for ages anyway ... and don't intend to any more :D
