XFX 6800XT, is not moddable!?!

Somebody tell me im wrong, this card appears to be locked at a hardware level as rivatuner cant unlock the masked quad or vertex shader.

Im a bit annoyed because i was wondering due to theway higher clock speeds it can run compared to the 6800vanilla im running now iwas interested tosee if it could out perform it. Which i doubt to be fair, best score on 3dmak06 from 6800xt is 2218 overclocked to the max and you can see best score below for vanilla.

Can 6800xt be unlocked or not?

If its pci-e i think they are made with only 8 pipes

The AGP 6800NU were failed or surplus GTs or ultras and the extra pipes were physically there, hence why they unlocked.

The pci-e version of the 6800NU is same as the XT, only made with 12 pipes

it is pcie, they are 8 pipes yes, rivatuner does show another quad and vertex masked though but cant ublock them.

I know, it did the same when i had a 7800GT. It showed the extra quad, even let me enable it, but it didnt do anything as it either only had 20 pipes to begin with or the extra 4 were laser cut

So basically i need throw it in the bin coz its a waste of space as a gfx card

never mind ill just flog it on ebay and get some money back for it

Im not fussed by the way it was a cheap card, just makes me laugh i got a oem 6800 off ebay for 75quid that leaves ti for dead with 16 unlocked pipes.

get some liquid nitrogen going over it and overclock it to hell!

dont joke! i like overclocking, it makes me happy, especially if i can kill something I might just kill it that might be more fun than selling it
