Did they ever fix the overload shut off problem with these? I.e. they didn't shut off but went bang instead.

Not seen any info on that, do you have a link?

From the reviews I've seen this is a very high quality PSU, trades blows with the corsair HX units.
 
The PSU's are very good with great reliability and safety features. They are a great looking design which will/does appeal to the enthusiasts.

Yes, it was in particular reference to this review, I believe it's the same product, if not, my mistake.

It was a topic of much discussion at OC3D.

Obviously they were testing it to the limit, which almost any consumer is unlikely to, but it's not reassuring buying a product with a possible problem like that.
 
Well you would think that they (XFX and Seasonic) would sort the overload problem. I mean, you dont hear about anything like this happening to any Seasonic units and it wasn't good publicity for them. Would be nice if someone knew/could find out :)
