I reckon they have the new cards and know how much quicker they are and dumping the old cards now.

Great price, and just a few weeks after I upgraded to a Sapphire one at an extra £80 too! Damn my impulse buying :(. Even if there is a new card waiting in the wings this is a bargain for such a monster card, which should still be competitive for a while anyway.
 
Got to hand it to XFX, with their brand name they came in to the ATI camp facing pretty much zero competition (in this country) and could easily have charged a £20+ premium, but here they are slashing prices left and right.
 
Wow that's a pretty amazing price. Maybe they're slashing prices like that before Nvidia comes in with their single PCB GTX295? Either way it's a real bargain, I don't expect them to be on the shelves for a particularly long time, at least.

because I wasn't sure it was a reference design espesially with it being so much cheaper than other makes ? and I don't want to lay down £85 for a block that won't fit...was hoping someone had this combo or had seen someone with it..:o
