Got one of these last week and I'm blown away with it, it's been a while since I've been into PC's but this has shocked me. I just cannot believe how quiet this is even on 100% fan speed and cool it's as cool as a cucumber I'd say one of the best £150 anyone can spend.

The card oozes quality and looks terrific in the case, and the best bit is it's overclockability, I will return with some figures when I get time to get onto the desktop but I did brief overclocks 1150 1500 and tried it on HWBOT

Very pleased with that for a first run and got some nice points for the
OcUK forum HWBOT team :D

I doubt anyone could be disappointed with one of these and don't forget OcUK have a special warranty with XFX:

OcUK has negotiated special RMA terms with XFX which allows OcUK to express RMA any XFX item purchased from ourselves within 48 hours. Also exclusive to OcUK we allow the removal of the stock cooler for those wishing to water-cool their XFX product or change the cooler

As you can see I am VERY impressed and anyone who is looking for a new GPU have a good look at this you might be pleasantly surprised.
And they are on offer this week!!!

They are very underrated imo, partly due to their lousy CS and refusing cooler removal, terrible turnaround on dead gpu's.

@kimandsally,

they are the cheaper AIB choice but they perform good/bad as any other of the series, and it's looking like the new DD cooler's re-design enables better utilisation on the R9 280 series due to lower temps enabling great oc potential(795/70 XFX DD was crap:(), which my 7950(same gpu as 280) oc'ed very well indeed rock stable with your gpu clocks used on HWBOT.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the DD cooler will get high oc's on R9 290's though as they run hotter.

Lets see if a mod can make this into a XFX DD owners thread good idea.

You have neither of those issues when buying from OcUK!
We allow the removal of cooler and deal with the RMA as we have special terms negotiated with XFX so we can provide such a service. :)

got mine today. got to say the size of GPU's these days is crazy. i swapped it out for a Palit GTX 460 and it's twice the size! it LOOKS gorgeous; nicest looking thing inside my case by far. beautiful matte finish. haven't even played any games on it yet. installed all the necessary stuff and redeemed Tomb Raider, Thief, and Murder Soul: Suspect. will report back after i've tried them but really expecting a huge performance jump. gonna miss my 460 in a weird way, was a great card!

I'm still using XFX 5870 I purchased from OCuk in 2010 when XFX were kind of big deal then, remember their quality PSU ranges etc?

I thought they were no longer in the business because all thier products in UK seemed to disappear and vanish. I'm pleased to see they're still alive and kicking making quality Cards. Nice work OCuk!

I'm REALLY pleased for you, when I recommend something I just hope people see it the way I do then I feel I have helped the community.
With being a PC enthusiast I care about other Geeks shall we say, and I feel the love a new card or whatever brings, from the reading about it choosing the product carefully (I love the range OcUK have makes it a "one stop PC shop" only one parcel to wait for and no extra postage) ordering and then anxiously waiting for the postman to bring it, it never takes long before they get in my rig, my only problem if anything is I rush because of enthusiasm then sit back after and do more intense testing, it gives me 2 buzz's out of each component.

I used to build PC's for my living and I'm slowly getting back into it, but this time I want only want to use quality components.

In my previous time some customers wanted a really cheap PC which brought me real head aches, I bought 2 from the local rubbish PC shop with junk PSU's in and cases that I wouldn't store my garden weeds in.

This time I will only build quality and it will be something I can feel proud to put my name to. Not touting for work on here please, I think your all more than capable of making your own dream PC's.

So if anyone see's me writing about different GPU's or whatever in the future it's not that I will have fallen out with this one but that I have found something else that would interest fellow enthusiasts that I'm using for a new build.
I'm very excited, there is so much new quality gear out there I'm spending hours reading learning about the new bit's.

Please come back and post your findings of the card I would be pleased to see how you feel, I think the lack of noise will blow you away and they are very efficient I have a meter that shows how many watts the PC draws and this is a very efficient card indeed.

That is one of the reasons that makes these crappy cards not quite so crappy :)

Still think I'd get something £20 more though for a Tri-x or Powercolor PCS+ if I wasn't crossfiring.

That was the very card I jumped up from although mine was a Sapphire, I would HIGHLY recommend this to you, I would be 99.999% sure this would make a great card for you and save you ear bashing and electricity at the same time.

Glad OcUK have took on XFX again great brand but now with industry leading back up a win win situation, that's one reason I got one, I've used OcUK RMA in the past and was very impressed then and by all accounts it's got even better!!

Do you have one of these then? If you don't please don't call them crappy I've had mine for 2 weeks used it everyday and it's superb for the money and back up I don't think you could do much better.
I had problems with a Powercolor years ago but I wouldn't call them without trying one things change and I doubt if OcUK would offer that warranty if they wasn't confident do you?

I like XFX, my 6850 has just died this week, been worked hard and overclocked since day one, will be picking one of these up on monday hopefully to replace the 6850 should be good.

The quality of their GPU products is pretty poor. So much so, Nvidia stopped them making their cards. I've seen so many failures and I myself have also had them fail. The PSUs "they make" (Seasonic) are pretty good.

Stores like OCUK responed to customer feedback and everyone has been telling jusylt and lousy XFX where with CS so stores stopped stocking their products which forced XFX to amend their ways. A victory as a result of consumer pressure and competition.
