XFX Radeon R9 280 DD Edition Series Owners Thread

Stores like OCUK responed to customer feedback and everyone has been telling jusylt and lousy XFX where with CS so stores stopped stocking their products which forced XFX to amend their ways. A victory as a result of consumer pressure and competition.

I couldn't agree more then if XFX up the bar the rest have to follow win win for us.

I remember having a couple of naf Sony products years ago and now have a great flat screen TV companies if going long enough will make some bad products but if they listen and produce what we want we win, a great company listens to it's customers. I suppose XFX had to but nevertheless we win.

ok, now that i've had time with, i can say that this card rules. it's completely silent and yet i haven't seen it go over 46c when playing anything demanding. i was upgrading from a 1gb Palit GTX 460 which was an ace card back in the day but used to scream like a banshee when I played anything even slightly intensive. the stock coolers really do their job. haven't seen VRM over 40c either so I think the complaint about old XFX models don't apply here. and, ****, if we used that kind of reasoning, there's no company we'd ever be able to trust.

cheers OC!

Glad you trusted and bought one I'm so pleased your as happy as I am. ;)

Got one of these last week and I'm blown away with it, it's been a while since I've been into PC's but this has shocked me. I just cannot believe how quiet this is even on 100% fan speed and cool it's as cool as a cucumber I'd say one of the best £150 anyone can spend.

The card oozes quality and looks terrific in the case, and the best bit is it's overclockability, I will return with some figures when I get time to get onto the desktop but I did brief overclocks 1150 1500 and tried it on HWBOT

Very pleased with that for a first run and got some nice points for the
OcUK forum HWBOT team :D

I doubt anyone could be disappointed with one of these and don't forget OcUK have a special warranty with XFX:

OcUK has negotiated special RMA terms with XFX which allows OcUK to express RMA any XFX item purchased from ourselves within 48 hours. Also exclusive to OcUK we allow the removal of the stock cooler for those wishing to water-cool their XFX product or change the cooler

As you can see I am VERY impressed and anyone who is looking for a new GPU have a good look at this you might be pleasantly surprised.
And they are on offer this week!!!

these are beautiful cards, they look stunning to be honest. If I was in the market today for a top end card, I'd be all over these like a scabby rash. As it is, I'm more than happy with my 2 cards, just waiting for a really killer single card to arrive next year.

Gorgeous looking things though

Well thanks to this thread and of course the price, i bought one today and it will be here tomorrow, looking forward to the upgrade from my dead HD6850, oh and obviously less noise as the 6850 was like a jet.

Very pleased for you, please post back I'm interested if people rave about this like I do. ;)

Well got to say im loving this 280, never noticed how bad my HD6850 was lol.
First its damned quiet and quite cool running, idleing at 32c stock and topping out around 66c at 67% fan speed, compared to the 6850 this is a freezer as it ran in the 90's, temps probably limited to the ronin case only having 2 intakes and a h60 in push pull.

Also coming from the 6850 this thing flies to me at least, able to crank up the details and still keep 60+ fps in most situations at 1680x1050 - to be honest ive not actually felt the need to overclock it yet, but will probably look into it soon as a little bit extra never hurts. Very very impressed for the price i paid when it was on offer, happy gamer :)

Got mine today. Really happy with it thus far. Vast improvement over the two Powercolor's I had trouble with before. Nice and quiet. Idle temps not dropping below ~45'C after benchmarking it (never went above 67'C) but this could be to do with my small case - BitFenix Prodigy M.

Looking forward to some Shogun 2 now that I'm no longer relying on Intel HD graphics :D.
