As per title, I've an XFX 570 8GB RS. Just bought Serious Sam 4 and it says my GPU is 'weak'. Ok, so is it worth getting a 1650 super, the one I'm looking at is the 4GB tuf Asus version. Would this be a side swipe or a much better buy? the other thing is my monitor is a curved 24" Samsung with Freesync, I assume I'll lose Freesync with the switch.

My budget is £150, not made of money these days. I'm trying to future proof a little as I'm all geared up for Cyberpunk in November. Cpu is Ryzen 5 2600 and I've 16GB ram, SSD etc.

Any help appreciated.

Do not buy a card with less VRAM than you have now. £150 isn't going to get you a worthwhile upgrade, unless you strike lucky in the 2nd hand market. No, the 1650 Super isn't worth it, it's a very marginal upgrade and you're giving away 4GB of VRAM for nothing that is going to limit you down the line.

I think this is your best bet if you can't get anything cheap. Unless your monitor is also G-Sync comatible which it doesn't sound lke it is, you'd be better going with AMD.

Your best bet for the long term would be to wait it out and see where the market lies in a few months when all the new cards are out and available. but there's a a lot question marks surrounding supply so waiting has it's potential downsides as well.

It will be an upgrade over the 570 but not by that much... roughly somewhere around the 25% mark - and you will be losing out on video memory. :/

Personally, I'd save a little more and look at the second-hand market (maybe something like a used GTX1070). Also, check out the B-grade GPUs on here to see if there's anything worth considering.

Just seen this - out of your budget but I felt I had to mention it... :o

You can always make them an offer for it in customer services.

Yeah, if you're happy not buying brand new, then I'd be looking at that B-Grade Vega 64, listed above I know some people can be funny with 2nd hand and B-Grade cards though.

There is a 5500 XT B grade as well...
In MWO a solid 60fps, Warzone is VERY playable and so are other games. Just concerned that SS4 said my gpu was weak..

Also my PSU isn't all that, it's a coolermaster 600W.

That's another marginal upgrade at best, your PSU is absolutely fine.

It only matters whether you are happy with your GPU's performance or not, ignore what a game tells you.

Thanks all, Darujhistan it's a rubbish game anyway. Deleted it, asked for refund.

Yep, you actually seem fine with your card and in the long run keeping it for a while and then upgrading later will get you a much bigger performance jump for less money. Have a look next year maybe.

There's 1660 Super, that would be my minimum upgrade from 570, and that would require a good return on selling the 570 even. Inbetween is 580 and 5500xt. 1650 wouldn't be an upgrade at all. Realistically i'd be looking at 5600xt and above, but the return on money is poor if cash is tight. GPU prices are a bit naff right now. I honestly don't think you have any good option right now.

Save your cash for a a couple of months. Assume you are selling the RX570 and then see where a 3060 lands and what happens to 1660 super / 2060 prices. Don't buy anything right now ...

Also worried about losing Freesync, it's actually really good at sorting out framerates. 5600xt as you suggested, might be the best option.

Yep, unless I change my monitor, Freesync limits to AMD I think, I did read somewhere you can fudge the Nvidia drivers to work with Freesync? might have read that wrong, not sure..

Be much better off looking at a used 980 Ti or 1070. I've seen them going for around that price even on Ebay.

eBay is hit and miss, I'd love to look on market place here. I've been a member for 12 years but haven't made the post count yet! I need to be more prolific!!

Thanks all anyway.
